Real Madrid will reportedly refuse to sell Raphael Varane in this summer's transfer window unless an offer of £429m - the centre-back's release clause - arrives.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman in recent weeks amid suggestions that he wants to leave the Spanish capital.
However, according to Goal.com, Los Blancos will outright refuse to sell the 2018 World Cup winner unless his £429m release clause is activated.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane recently played down suggestions that the 25-year-old - also linked with Juventus - could leave the Bernabeu at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Varane has made 268 appearances for Madrid since a 2011 move from Lens, winning two league titles, one Copa del Rey and four Champions League crowns during his time at the club.
The centre-back is contracted to the European champions until the summer of 2023.
