Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste has revealed that the club are preparing to offer Gavi a new deal following his breakthrough into the first team.
The 17-year-old has made seven appearances for the Catalan giants at the start of the 2021-22 campaign, while he recently became the youngest-ever player to turn out for the Spanish national team.
Manchester United and Liverpool are both believed to be interested in the midfielder, who has €50m (£42.4m) release clause in his current deal at Camp Nou.
However, Yuste has revealed that Barcelona are preparing to raise the buy-out figure by offering him fresh terms to reflect his new-found importance to the side.
"I was very happy for Gavi, he has an inappropriate maturity for his age, instead of 17 he seems to be 37. We are going to give him this security so that he sees that Barca has to be his home for many years," Yuste told Mundo Deportivo.
Gavi has provided one assist in five La Liga appearances this season, while he featured against Bayern Munich and Benfica in the Champions League last month. body check tags ::
