Manchester United have announced that Hannibal Mejbri has joined Birmingham City on loan.
The youngster is due to spend the 2022-23 campaign with the Championship outfit and could potentially make his debut for the club in Tuesday's clash with Norwich City.
"Manchester United midfielder Hannibal has joined Birmingham City on loan for the 2022/23 season. The 19-year-old, who played twice in the Premier League last season, embarks on his first temporary move away from United," read a statement on Man United's official website.
"It is an honour to come and play for this club. I have heard a lot of good things from my friends who have played here before, so I am ready to come and play for this club," he told BluesTV.
Man United have said that they will 'closely monitor' the Tunisia international, who could potentially challenge for a regular first-team role at Old Trafford next term.
The teenager joined the Red Devils from Monaco in 2019, and he has made three first-team appearances for his parent club, including two Premier League outings last term.
Hannibal travelled with the Man United squad on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, while he was involved in the team's final friendly of the summer against Rayo Vallecano.
However, the Tunisian has not been involved in a matchday squad for Erik ten Hag's side this term, and he will now continue his development away from the club.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Man United are also planning to send Amad Diallo on loan once they have completed the signing of Antony from Ajax.
Antony is believed to have now landed in the United Kingdom to undergo his medical with the English giants, who are expected to pay the Dutch champions in the region of £85m for his signature.
The report claims that Man United have had 'numerous enquiries' for Amad, with Besiktas and Anderlecht among the clubs said to be interested in his services.
There is also thought to be some Championship clubs in the running, including Blackpool and Sunderland, with the 20-year-old potentially following Hannibal to the second tier of English football.
Amad made eight appearances for Man United in the second half of the 2020-21 campaign, but he only made one outing for the club last term, spending the second half of the season on loan at Rangers.
The Ivory Coast international, who joined the Premier League side from Atalanta BC in January 2021, still has another three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.
Man United's final two signings of the summer transfer window are expected to be Antony and Martin Dubravka, with the latter set to arrive on an initial loan deal from Newcastle United. body check tags ::
