Manchester United have reportedly failed in their attempts to sign AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho.
The Premier League side have been admirers of the versatile Brazilian for some time, and the player has previously acknowledged that he would like to work with Jose Mourinho.
However, according to the Daily Record, Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as frontrunners for the 23-year-old and appear ready to meet Monaco's valuation.
While it has been claimed that Fabinho only featured on a long list of potential signings at United, he would have been regarded as a key member of the squad with his ability to play in the centre of midfield and at right-back.
During his three years in Monte Carlo, he has scored a total of 19 goals from 139 appearances in all competitions.
