Manchester United 'offered chance to sign Arkadiusz Milik'

Manchester United are offered the chance to sign Marseille forward Arkadiusz Milik this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly been offered Marseille forward Arkadiusz Milik, as the Red Devils look to boost their attacking options before the end of the summer transfer window.

The English club's head coach Erik ten Hag is said to want a wide forward and a central striker before the deadline, with Cristiano Ronaldo potentially being allowed to move on.

Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata are among the forwards to be linked with Man United in recent days, in addition to Leicester City's Jamie Vardy and Stuttgart's Sasa Kalajdzic.

However, Milik has now allegedly emerged as an option for the 20-time English champions, who have lost both of their Premier League matches this season to sit bottom of the table.

According to Amazon Prime Sport, Marseille have offered the 28-year-old to a number of clubs, with Man United approached to discuss a possible summer deal.

The report claims that Everton have also been contacted, in addition to Juventus, who are said to be long-term admirers of the former Napoli striker.

Milik, who has scored 16 times in 62 caps for Poland, joined Bayer Leverkusen from Gornik Zabrze in 2013, while he also played for Ajax and Napoli ahead of a move to Marseille in 2021, initially on loan.

The striker, who has only just completed a permanent move to his current side, has scored 30 goals and registered three assists in 55 appearances for the French outfit.

Last term, Milik scored 20 goals and registered two assists in 37 games for Marseille, including seven in 23 Ligue 1 appearances.

There have been suggestions that the centre-forward could be available for around £17m, making him a low-cost option for Man United, who are scrambling around for new signings late in the window.

Ronaldo is being heavily linked with a return to Sporting Lisbon, as Man United are now open to the idea of letting the 37-year-old leave due to the disruption that is being caused.

Ajax's Antony is said to still be a target for the 20-time English champions, with the club potentially making an offer for the Brazil international late in the transfer window.

A new right-back and two central midfielders are also allegedly wanted by the Red Devils, with Real Madrid's Casemiro currently being linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Ten Hag will also hope to have Anthony Martial available for selection against Liverpool on Monday night, with the Frenchman missing out against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in the early stages of the new season due to a hamstring problem that he picked up over the summer. body check tags ::
