Manchester United reportedly scouted Red Bull Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko last weekend, with the Red Devils still interested in signing him.
The 19-year-old has scored 27 goals and registered 10 assists in 74 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions, including 19 goals and six assists in 50 league appearances for his current side.
Man United were heavily linked with Sesko last summer before it was announced that the teenager would be making the move to RB Leipzig.
However, according to 90min, the 20-time English champions are still keen on the Slovenia international and believe that there could be an opportunity to sign him this summer.
The report claims that Leipzig - Salzburg's sister club - would be open to selling Sesko for a profit in the upcoming market, which has led to a number of teams keeping a close eye on the situation.
Man United are said to have had scouts in attendance to watch Sesko score in a 2-0 victory for Salzburg over Sturm Graz in the Austria Bundesliga on Sunday.
The youngster has now found the back of the net on eight occasions in his last nine league appearances, including a hat-trick against Rapid Vienna at the start of last month.
Any deal for Sesko this summer would be complicated due to the fact that he is set to move to Leipzig, but Man United are believed to be confident that an agreement could be reached.
Newcastle United are also believed to have had scouts in attendance at the weekend, with the Magpies preparing for the possibility of playing Champions League football next season.
Sesko has also been capped on 19 occasions by Slovenia, finding the back of the net six times, and he registered in his national side's last match against San Marino on March 26.
Man United will move for at least one new forward this summer, with Harry Kane viewed as the team's leading target, but the Red Devils could ultimately be forced to admit defeat in their pursuit of the England captain.
A recent report claimed that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has made it clear that he has no intention of allowing the club's all-time leading goalscorer to leave this summer.
Marcus Rashford is Man United's leading goalscorer this season, with the Englishman finding the back of the net on 28 occasions in all competitions.
Bruno Fernandes is the team's second-highest goalscorer in 2022-23 with 10 goals, while Antony has contributed eight in his first season after arriving from Ajax. body check tags ::
