Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop is seemingly in line to go out on loan in January.
With Sergio Romero expected to sign for a new club later this month, Bishop has effectively been promoted up the pecking order at Old Trafford.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he intends to allow the former England Under-20s international a chance to earn first-team experience elsewhere.
Solskjaer is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Yes, I think Nathan's next step should be a loan deal. He could be ready for the Championship or League One for sure.
"The young boys need a step up from the U23s, because sometimes that level doesn't prepare you for a man's game."
The 21-year-old made 39 appearances for Southend United before joining the Premier League side 12 months ago.
