Manchester United 'want to sign a new right-back'

Manchester United want to sign a new right-back next year to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to bring a new right-back to the club in 2021 to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 23-year-old has impressed defensively for the Red Devils since arriving from Crystal Palace in 2019 but has struggled to contribute in an attacking sense.

According to ESPN, the 20-time English champions believe that Wan-Bissaka is lacking competition for a starting role and want to bring a new right-back to Old Trafford in either January or next summer.

The report claims that United are hopeful that a new player 'will accelerate an improvement' in the former England Under-21 international's game.

Wan-Bissaka has made 58 appearances for the Red Devils since his arrival but has only contributed one goal and four assists, while he managed just four assists in 46 outings for Palace.

Diogo Dalot is currently on loan at AC Milan, but United are allegedly not interested in selling the right-back as they are confident that he will develop into a first-team player in the coming years. body check tags ::
