Former Manchester United and Anzhi Makhachkala coach Renu Meulensteen has said that Brazilian playmaker Willian would be a top acquisition for any club.
Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be on the verge of signing the 25-year-old from the Russian side, poaching him from the grasp of Liverpool.
Meulensteen was recently manager of Anzhi but is one of many staff and players who are being axed by the club as billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov looks to cut his football costs.
"I think he is going to be a major trump card for Spurs if they can get the deal through because he is a player who can play in different positions," Meulensteen told Sky Sports News.
"He's very creative, he can take a man on, he can beat a player and he can score a goal. I thought he was an absolute delight to work with."
If reports are to be believed, then Willian has been in London today completing a medical ahead of his move to Spurs.
