Manchester United have reportedly all but wrapped up a deal to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but are waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo's future to be resolved before making an official announcement.
The Red Devils' interest in Morata appeared to cool over the past fortnight following the shock news that Ronaldo apparently wants to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, a move is still on the cards but any confirmation will not be made until Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is confident of tying down star man Ronaldo, who is said to be looking to cut ties with the club after eight years of service due to allegations of tax fraud.
It is claimed that United are simply biding their time before getting a transfer over the line, with Morata expected to be their marquee arrival ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 24-year-old scored 20 goals in 42 appearances for Los Blancos last season, despite being used almost exclusively as a back-up choice in the famous double-winning campaign.
