Manchester United boss David Moyes has revealed that his team require urgent signings, but has ruled out the possibility of any major transfer movements until the summer.
The Scot was speaking after United were knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea City at the first time of asking at Old Trafford, following on from a poor display against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last week.
"There is an urgency that we would like to bring people in but are those players available in January? So there is no point in me hyping it up because the players we would like to bring in are probably not available, not because we don't want to do it," ESPN quotes him as saying.
"It is no excuse. We had a very strong team out. Just about every player we had out was an international player. Maybe Alex Buttner wasn't, but everyone is getting an opportunity to show what they can do."
United currently find themselves languishing in seventh place in the Premier League table.
