Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Newcastle United.
The 30-year-old is one of a number of players at Old Trafford who have been frozen out by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the first half of the campaign.
Having not made a single appearance in any competition, Rojo is now being targeted by a number of clubs from the Premier League and abroad.
Although Sheffield United have been suggested as a possible destination, The Athletic claims that Newcastle are also monitoring the situation.
The report claims that Steve Bruce is keen for a centre-back who can also cover at left-back, criteria which makes the Argentina international a perfect addition for the Magpies.
Providing that they do not trigger a 12-month option in his contract, United are expected to accept a cut-price fee for the player's signature.
