Newcastle United have reportedly emerged as a potential destination for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
The Germany international remains with less than four months remaining on his contract, a consequence of Chelsea having failed to agree fresh terms with the centre-back.
As it stands, it is claimed that the European and world champions remain with a chance of convincing the 29-year-old to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
However, according to The Telegraph, Newcastle are ready to join the race for his signature having moved closer to securing their Premier League status.
Rudiger will realistically have his pick of clubs in the summer, potentially leaving the Magpies as underdogs to get a deal over the line.
Nevertheless, not being required to pay a transfer fee may encourage Newcastle to go all out for a player who remains one of the first names on the teamsheet under Thomas Tuchel.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be monitoring the situation.
