Newcastle United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho during this summer's transfer window.
The Premier League outfit are allegedly nearing a change of ownership with a Saudi consortium potentially purchasing the club from Mike Ashley.
The Magpies are expected to be extremely active in the upcoming transfer market if the deal goes through, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Coutinho has been identified as a target.
The Brazil international's future is currently the subject of much speculation as Barca are allegedly keen to move him on once again ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, but the German champions are not believed to be considering signing the playmaker on a permanent deal during this summer's transfer window.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton also continue to be linked with the 27-year-old, who joined Barca in a big-money move from Liverpool in January 2018.
Newcastle have also reportedly been in contact with Napoli to discuss a potential swoop for in-demand centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
