A number of European clubs have reportedly distanced themselves from a move for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The 27-year-old has struggled for form this season, which resulted in him being dropped for the Red Devils' decisive Champions League encounter with Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Sir Alex Ferguson's decision has thrown Rooney's future at Old Trafford into doubt, with some reports suggesting that United may be willing to listen to offers for the England international.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City were all linked with moves for Rooney after he handed in a transfer request in 2010, but were left disappointed when he made a U-turn by signing a new £300,000-per-week deal.
According to the Daily Mail, none of the aforementioned clubs would now be willing to meet his wage demands.
The same paper has also claimed that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich remain uninterested.
