Paul Pogba all but confirms his imminent return to Juventus after his second departure from Manchester United on a free transfer.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has all but confirmed that he will be returning to Juventus in the coming days.

The World Cup winner departed Manchester United at the end of his contract last month and has been widely expected to seal a permanent return to Turin ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Real Madrid were previously linked with a move for Pogba, but Carlo Ancelotti's side instead opted to sign his compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco.

Reported interest from the Red Devils' bitter rivals Manchester City also went nowhere, and Pogba has now dropped a major hint that he will soon link up with the Old Lady again.

The 29-year-old was filmed on a private jet during his flight to Turin, in which he was donning the black and white colours of Juventus as the post was uploaded to social media.

Pogba accompanied the video with the caption #Pogalmostback and exclaimed: "It's time. It's time, yes sir. See you soon." to the camera with a wide grin.

The midfielder is now expected to complete his medical with Massimiliano Allegri's side over the weekend before signing his contract, which is believed to be four years in length.

Pogba previously represented Juventus for four years between 2012 and 2016 following his first departure from Old Trafford, and racked up 34 goals and 40 assists in 178 games for the club in all competitions.

The Bianconeri won four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias and three Supercoppa Italiana crowns with Juve in that time and also reached the final of the 2014-15 Champions League, which his side lost to Barcelona.

After sealing an £89m return to Man United in 2016, Pogba scored 39 goals and set up 51 more in 232 games for the Red Devils, winning the Europa League and EFL Cup in 2017.

However, Pogba's farewell season at Man United was disrupted by injury, and he managed one goal and nine assists for the club in 2021-22 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Pogba was one of a number of players to leave the Red Devils on free transfers at the start of the month, with Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic joining him alongside the retired Lee Grant.

Man United are yet to sign a new midfielder to replace the likes of Pogba, Matic and Mata, with left-back Tyrell Malacia the only incoming of the Erik ten Hag reign so far.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has recently shot down United's hopes of completing a deal for Frenkie de Jong, but Christian Eriksen has supposedly agreed to join the club on a three-year contract. body check tags ::
