Paris Saint-Germain football advisor Luis Campos is reportedly set to meet with the agents of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen during the international break.
The 24-year-old has quickly become one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, having spearheaded the Partenopei's charge towards an expected Serie A crown.
Osimhen has posted 25 goals and five assists from 29 matches in all tournaments this season, including a staggering 21 strikes from 23 Serie A contests.
Luciano Spalletti's side hold an incredible 19-point lead at the top of the standings, but the Scudetto chasers will find it difficult to retain Osimhen's services for the 2023-24 season.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both said to be pushing to bring Osimhen to the Premier League, although Napoli are supposedly holding out for a mammoth £150m fee.
Such a sum of money would prove no problem for financial powerhouses PSG, who have sent Campos to meet with the striker's camp during the international period, according to Foot Mercato.
Osimhen is currently on duty with Nigeria, who face back-to-back meetings with Guinea-Bissau on Friday and Monday during qualifying for next year's Africa Cup of Nations.
The report adds that Campos shares a strong relationship with Osimhen's representatives, but Napoli's nine-figure asking price could still prove problematic for PSG due to Financial Fair Play concerns.
Furthermore, PSG are not optimistic about their chances of driving the price down during talks with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, who is a renowned hardball negotiator.
While the French champions are better positioned than Chelsea to sign Osimhen, Man United have apparently shown a willingness to bow to Napoli's financial demands and could have the edge on PSG due to the striker's desire to play in the Premier League.
Osimhen will not think about his future until the end of the season, but he has reportedly not ruled out remaining at Napoli under new-and-improved terms, with his current contract expiring in 2025.
Napoli forked out €75m (£66.3m) to bring Osimhen to the club from Lille in 2020, and the Nigeria international now has 53 goals and 14 assists from 91 appearances for the Partenopei.
Osimhen is not the only Napoli attacker said to be on the radar of PSG, who are also monitoring the performances of breakthrough star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Christophe Galtier is currently working with the iconic front three of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes, although at least one of the attackers is expected to leave this summer in order to free up space on the wage bill.
Messi is seemingly the most likely to move on, with PSG now said to be having second thoughts about extending the Argentine's contract beyond the end of the campaign.
