Real Madrid have reportedly switched their attention from Paul Pogba to Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante.
Kante is understood to be in high demand this summer following an impressive 2015-16 campaign at the King Power Stadium, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Chelsea also thought to be interested.
Madrid had previously been linked with a bid for Pogba, who is reportedly keen to move to the Bernabeu rather than Manchester United this summer.
However, with United having lodged a £100m bid for the Juventus midfielder, Madrid are now considering the cheaper option of Kante, according to Spanish website ABC.
The report goes on to state that a bid of £21m would trigger Kante's release clause, making him almost five times less expensive than his compatriot.
The 25-year-old is thought to be keen on a move to Madrid, where he would play under World Cup-winning France talisman Zinedine Zidane.
