Real Madrid could raise as much as £72m during the January transfer window by selling Jesus Vallejo, Marcelo, Isco, Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard.

A recent report claimed that Los Blancos would be open to selling the six players at the start of 2022, as they look to raise funds to sign both Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland next summer.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez will need to make difficult decisions in order to stand a chance of signing both Mbappe and Haaland, with the club's wage bill also needing to be reduced.

Vallejo - valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt - has only made one appearance for Los Blancos this season, featuring for three minutes in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk. The 24-year-old is seemingly not in Carlo Ancelotti's plans moving forward, so he could leave for a cut-price fee in January.

Marcelo, meanwhile, will be out of contract next June and is expected to move on, potentially returning to Brazil, but Real Madrid could attempt to sell the 33-year-old in January, and a valuation of £4.5m would make him an attractive proposition for a number of teams, including Leeds United and Everton.

Isco, valued at £13.5m, is also out of contract next summer, meaning that a January exit is possible, with the 29-year-old struggling at the Bernabeu. The Spaniard has made six appearances this season, scoring once, but he is down the pecking order and could potentially be moved on at the start of 2022 to raise transfer funds.

Bale, meanwhile, is another who only has a deal until next June, and the 32-year-old is seemingly intent on running down his contract at Real Madrid before leaving at the end of the season. An opportunity could arise in January, though, and valued at £9m, there could potentially be interest from China once again.

Jovic was so impressive during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, but the 23-year-old, who has recently been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, has failed to make his mark in Madrid, scoring just twice in 39 appearances.

The Serbian still has four years left to run on his contract, so Transfermarkt have placed a value of £18m on the striker, who is believed to be keen to move on at the start of 2022.

Hazard's future remains the subject of much speculation, with Newcastle, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Juventus among those linked with a move, and the 30-year-old - valued at £22.5m - could potentially be leaving the Bernabeu during the January transfer window.

It would be a risk to allow six players to move on at the start of 2022, but their exits would free up a lot of room in the wage bill and raise some valuable funds for Real Madrid ahead of the summer. body check tags ::
