Manchester City are poised to rival Manchester United's bid to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, according to a report.
The Red Devils along with Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in signing the Poland international this summer, and now City have entered the contest after contacting the player's representatives.
The Citizens are prepared to offer Dortmund a fee in the region of £25.5m for the 24-year-old and will give the striker £200,000-a-week wages at the Etihad Stadium, reports The Sun.
Lewandowksi scored 34 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga side last season.
