Manchester United have reportedly closed in on a deal for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The German, who was also linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer, has just one year remaining on his current deal with the Bundesliga side, so is expected to be available at the end of the current season to avoid him leaving on a free next year.
According to the Daily Mail, United are on the verge of agreeing to meet Dortmund's £20.5m valuation of the 24-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Gundogan missed much of last season with a back injury, but has been a regular for Jurgen Klopp this term, making 27 appearances.
