Manchester United have reportedly revisited their interest in Edinson Cavani after Bayern Munich insisted that Thomas Muller would not be joining the club.
It had been speculated that the Germany international would be following Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford from the Bundesliga champions, but the club's CEO has insisted that will not happen.
According to the Daily Star, United had considered the Paris Saint-Germain striker a prime target earlier this year prior to pursuing Muller, but they now hope that the Uruguay international can help them challenge for the Premier League title.
Cavani has been valued at £60m by the French champions, but is thought to be keen for an exit after spending much of last season playing out wide rather than as a central striker.
