Manchester United have reportedly been ordered to pay a world-record fee if they are to land Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos this January.
The 20-year-old has failed to make a breakthrough in the French capital, being restricted to just 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Despite missing out on last summer's World Cup in his native Brazil, Marquinhos has continued to grab the attention of many of European football's elite clubs, including United who are said to be keen on signing the centre-back.
However, it is claimed by The Sun that the Red Devils will have to break the bank to sign the youngster, who has been valued at £112m by PSG.
Louis van Gaal's charges have been repeatedly linked with central defensive options this month, and it is suggested by the same publication that a potential move could still be on the cards despite the hefty price tag.
Marquinhos joined the Parisians in 2013 on a five-year deal for a sum in the region of £24m.
