Centre-back Sergio Ramos is reportedly on the brink of signing a new contract with Real Madrid, which would kill Manchester United's chance of signing him.
The Spaniard allegedly told Madrid president Florentino Perez that he won't sign a new deal and wants to move to Old Trafford, but the La Liga side have refused to sanction his sale.
United are understood to have had a £28m bid rejected, before telling Madrid that they won't sign goalkeeper David de Gea this summer unless they include Ramos in the deal.
However, Spanish publication Marca now claims that Ramos will stay after talks with Perez in China, where the club are currently on tour.
The 29-year-old has been with Madrid since 2005.
