Sergio Ramos has reportedly informed Real Madrid of his desire to join Manchester United this summer.
Recent speculation claimed that the Red Devils had lodged a £28.6m bid for the centre-back, which was subsequently rejected by their Spanish counterparts.
However, having learned of United's offer, Ramos told Los Blancos that he wanted to move to Old Trafford, rather than negotiate a new deal with them, according to numerous reports.
Meanwhile, The Sun has reported that United are now prepared to let goalkeeper David de Gea join Madrid in a straight swap deal for the 29-year-old.
It has been suggested that Madrid value Ramos at around £50m, despite the fact that he has just two years left to run on his contract at the Bernabeu.
