Napoli fear being priced out of a move for Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier, according to a report.
Despite an underwhelming campaign on the back of his World Cup heroics with England, the 28-year-old has emerged as a rumoured target for the Italian club and Manchester United.
Tottenham are believed to be ready to cash in on Trippier, who has been on their books since 2015, possibly sparking a bidding war for his signature.
The Sun suggests that Napoli have already been in contact with the Lilywhites, but they have been informed that it will take a bid of £40m to land the ex-Burnley defender, double Carlo Ancelotti's budget for a new full-back.
Trippier has made 31 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions this season and still has three years left on his contract.
