Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira next summer.
The 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu next season and, according to The Mirror, both Premier League giants are preparing a £20m bid to prise the Germany international away from the Spanish capital at the end of the current campaign.
United boss David Moyes is said to have been assured by the club's hierarchy that he will be afforded the necessary finances to help bolster his playing staff.
However, Khedira - a long-term absentee for Los Blancos after sustaining cruciate ligament damage in Germany's 1-1 draw with Italy last month - is tipped to favour a switch to the Emirates Stadium to reunite with his friend and former teammate Mesut Ozil in North London.
Khedira joined Madrid in 2010.
