Manchester United are reportedly at the head of the queue to sign Lazio centre-back Stefan de Vrij.
It is understood that the Netherlands international has informed Lazio that he wishes to leave at the end of the season, which has seen his Italian club place a £30m asking price on his head.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, but according to Il Messaggero, Man United are De Vrij's preferred choice in the Premier League.
The 30-time international footballer, who has also linked with Man United during Louis van Gaal's time in charge of the Red Devils, joined Lazio from Feyenoord in the summer of 2014.
It is thought that Southampton's Virgil van Dijk also remains a transfer target for Jose Mourinho.
