Jesse Lingard is unwilling to sign a new contract with Manchester United until he is offered improved terms, according to a report.
The 23-year-old is said to have been offered a five-year deal at Old Trafford worth around £60,000 a week - double the amount he currently earns.
It is claimed by The Mirror that Lingard is not seeking a way out of the club, but is happy to bide his time before putting pen to paper.
United are understood to be deliberating over the wage demands, which would bring the England international - a member of the Red Devils' setup since he was a schoolboy - closer towards the squad average pay.
Lingard, an unused member of United's squad in the 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday, has two goals and two assists in 11 appearances for the club in all competitions this term.
