Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has reportedly told Manchester United that he wants to move to Old Trafford this summer.
The 28-year-old is said to have been targeted by the Red Devils following the departures of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.
Due to Vermaelen's failure to keep a first-team spot under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, there have been suggestions that the defender, who has one year left on his contract, will seek pastures new.
According to The Telegraph, Vermaelen, who shares the same agent as Robin van Persie, has verbally agreed a deal with United worth around £100,000 per week.
The North-West outfit, who will be guided by new manager Louis van Gaal next season, now need to agree a fee with their Premier League rivals.
