Arsenal chiefs will reportedly sanction a £44.5m move for Cengiz Under after sending scouts to view the Roma midfielder up close.
The 21-year-old is said to have been watched during the Giallorossi's 2-2 draw with Inter Milan in Rome on Sunday evening.
Under was on target early in the second half for his fourth goal of the season in all competitions, adding to the same number of assists from his central attacking position.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira claims that Roma chief Monchi will accept Arsenal's bid if it is tabled in January, which he hints will be the case as the Gunners are "really interested" in the Turkey international.
Competition for the youngster's signature may be provided by Premier League rivals Manchester United, however, and Barcelona have also been linked in the past.
