Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been 'impressed' with Diogo Dalot during pre-season and is now looking to keep the Portuguese at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan with AC Milan, making 33 appearances for the Italian giants, contributing two goals and three assists during a productive spell in Italy.

Dalot, who was in action for his country at Euro 2020, is believed to be a transfer target for Milan this summer, but he has allegedly been priced out of a switch to San Siro.

According to O Jogo, the right-back's performance against Everton on Saturday made a big impression on Solskjaer, while his training-ground displays have also pleased his manager.

The report claims that Dalot is now likely to remain at Old Trafford for the 2021-22 campaign, which could end the English club's interest in Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier.

The Portuguese has made 35 first-team appearances for Man United since arriving from Porto in 2018. body check tags ::
