Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly considers Kalidou Koulibaly to be one of the best players in the world and is keen to bring the Napoli defender to Manchester United.
Koulibaly has spent the the last six seasons in Serie A with Napoli, racking up 173 league appearances in that time.
The Senegal international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past and, according to the Evening Standard, United are still interested in his signature.
Solskjaer is said to rate Koulibaly among the top three centre-backs in world football, alongside Harry Maguire and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
The same report suggests that Napoli have dropped their asking price for the 28-year-old, but United may face competition from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
