Sporting Lisbon have denied that Manchester United have made an offer for Bruno Fernandes as the speculation surrounding the Portugal international continues to gather pace.
United have been strongly linked with a move for the 24-year-old throughout the summer, with the Red Devils said to have identified him as a leading transfer target.
Fernandes is alleged to have informed his teammates that he expects to leave the club before this summer's transfer window closes for business.
However, a spokesperson for Sporting has told RTP that there is no agreement over a switch to Old Trafford, while it has been denied that United have even made an offer for the playmaker.
Last week, it was reported that the Portuguese press were largely driving rumours that Fernandes was heading for Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, though, are said to be in talks with Paulo Dybala's agent over a move for the Juventus forward, who could arrive in a swap deal with Romelu Lukaku.
