Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been priced out of a potential deal to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger in the summer.
The 28-year-old Germany international has less than five months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and his future with the Blues remains uncertain.
Spurs are believed to be one of a number of teams who are keeping tabs on Rudiger's situation, with the club's managing director Fabio Paratici determined to sign the centre-back.
However, Football Insider reports that the player is holding out for a contract worth in excess of £300,000 per week, which Tottenham are not prepared to pay even though there would be no transfer fee included.
The report adds that the addition of Rudiger on a big-money contract would break Spurs' wage structure, with talisman Harry Kane currently the club's highest earner on around £200,000 per week plus bonuses.
Rudiger, who recently won the Club World Cup with Chelsea, has also been linked with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. body check tags ::
