Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has admitted that he 'does not know' whether Jadon Sancho will play for the club again due to the recent developments.

The 23-year-old is currently training away from the first team at Old Trafford following his falling-out with Ten Hag, who is believed to want an apology before the situation can move forward.

Ten Hag said after the clash with Arsenal before the international break that Sancho had been left out at the Emirates Stadium due to some poor performances in training.

The England international took to social media later in the evening to hit back at his manager, and a decision was made last week for the player to be removed from first-team training.

Sancho will not feature in Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, and Ten Hag has suggested that the attacker might not play for the 20-time English champion again.

"I don't know," Ten Hag told reporters when asked whether the former Manchester City youngster would play for the Red Devils again.

"I am sitting here. Tomorrow we have a big game, we are going into a new block of games, many games in a condensed programme. I focus on that.

"I don't know [how long the disciplinary issue will take] but, as I say, I don't think about that. I think about tomorrow. I think about the way the team has to progress. We go to Champions League. I have a lot to consider to make the right decisions.

"I don't think this subject (Sancho) is important. I think what is important is I have to prepare my team. So that's what I do. It is also not about me, it is about the team and the club. I put my energy into giving the best performance tomorrow against Brighton.

"I prepare my team the best I can, I put all my effort into the players who are available. He is not available, so in this moment, he is not important, because he can't contribute.

"I am always honest. You have to keep things inside but when I am asked the question, I will be honest. Once again it is about the team. I explained something about the team, individuals in the team, that's what I expressed, nothing else.

"Once again we are in a good place, we are highly motivated, really looking forward, players coming back from international games, most of them you saw really good results, really good performances, all the players who were on international duties, now they are back.

"We were really disappointed from Arsenal for the result, but not the performance."

Nottingham Forest and Borussia Dortmund are both reportedly interested in signing Sancho during the January transfer window, while Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest.
