Nottingham Forest could reportedly move for Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho when the January transfer window opens for business.
The 23-year-old is currently training away from the first team at Old Trafford, with a statement from the club calling the situation "a squad discipline issue".
Sancho put out a statement on social media criticising Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag for his comments following the clash with Arsenal before the international break.
The England international denied that he had not been selected due to poor training performances, which has led to a tense situation between the two individuals.
Sancho has at least now removed the statement from his 'X' profile, but it is understood that he is refusing to apologise, which has led to the Red Devils making the decision to take him away from the main group.
Ten Hag was asked about the forward during his press conference on Friday but refused to directly discuss him.
There is now huge uncertainty surrounding Sancho's future at Old Trafford, as it is understood that Man United were willing to let him move to the Saudi Pro League last week.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Englishman is open to departing at the start of 2024, having found it difficult to make his mark since arriving at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
The report claims that Forest have emerged as genuine contenders, with Reds head coach Steve Cooper familiar with Sancho following his spell as England Under-17s coach.
Dortmund are also said to be exploring a return for the former Manchester City youngster in January.
Sancho spent time away from Man United towards the end of last year to deal with a personal issue, but he was a regular in the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.
The forward then put in some impressive performances during pre-season, but he was only a substitute for the team's first three Premier League games of the campaign before being left out altogether at Arsenal.
Sancho will again be absent against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday, and it is unclear whether he will represent the club again.
A number of Saudi Arabian sides are allegedly being informed of any developments, but it is believed that the Englishman wants to remain in European football at this stage of his career. body check tags ::
