Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a £50m summer move for Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho.

The 23-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 off the back of scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in 137 appearances for the German club.

However, Sancho has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 79 appearances for Man United, with the England international finding it difficult to impress in his two campaigns at the club.

The attacker was absent for a period of the 2022-23 season due to a mixture of injury and off-the-field problems, but he still made 41 appearances, scoring seven goals and registering three assists.

Sancho has another three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, with the option of an additional 12 months, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future.

According to the Daily Star, Tottenham are currently showing an interest in the former Manchester City youngster, with the capital outfit weighing up a £50m move.

New head coach Ange Postecoglou is expected to be backed during this summer's transfer window despite Spurs missing out on European football for next season.

The North London giants have also been linked with a move for Man United captain Harry Maguire, while Harry Kane is wanted by the Red Devils, although there is currently no indication that a swap deal could be a possibility.

Dortmund have allegedly been in touch with Man United to register an interest in taking Sancho on loan for the 2023-24 campaign, but Erik ten Hag's side will not let him leave on a short-term basis.

Sancho ended the season with six goals and three assists in 26 Premier League appearances, while he scored once in 10 appearances in the Europa League.

The forward has been capped on 23 occasions by England, scoring three times, but he is not currently in the plans of Three Lions head coach Gareth Southgate.

Man United's main priority for this summer's transfer window is to sign a centre-forward, with Kane still thought to be the leading target, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to be unwilling to let the England captain move to a domestic rival.

The Red Devils also want to bring in a centre-back and central midfielder, but there is uncertainty when it comes to the club's summer budget, as the Glazers are in talks over a sale of the 20-time English champions.

Goalkeeper David de Gea is yet to sign a new deal at Old Trafford, meanwhile, and Everton's Jordan Pickford and Porto's Diogo Costa are being linked with potential switches to the club. body check tags ::
