Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga.
Having risen through the academy ranks at Celta, Veiga has gone on to establish himself as a key part of the first team.
The 20-year-old has been in impressive form this season, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
In total, the Spain Under-21 international has registered nine goals and four assists in 45 competitive games for the Galician club.
The youngster is under contract until June 2026, but there is a €40m (£35.4m) release clause in his current deal.
As a result, Celta are resigned to losing one of their prized assets this summer amid interest from several of Europe's biggest clubs, including numerous sides in the Premier League.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United, but they could all face further competition from another domestic rival.
According to Galician outlet Atlantico, Tottenham are interested in signing the Celta playmaker ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Spurs are keen to bring in reinforcements in the summer transfer window, and Veiga's creativity and technical ability could be useful to the North London club.
The Spaniard could also be deployed in different areas of the pitch as he is comfortable playing in attacking or central midfield as well as on the flanks.
With Cristian Stellini currently in interim charge, Spurs are still searching for a new permanent manager for next term, and the new boss is likely to have a say in any potential move for Veiga.
The Celta man is also being linked with the reigning European champions Real Madrid as well as Italian sides Napoli and AC Milan.
Tottenham, who are sitting in fifth position, will continue their top-four push when they face Bournemouth on Saturday.
