Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar as a possible transfer target this month.
Mourinho is understood to have made defensive reinforcements one of his priorities for the current window, having seen Tottenham keep just one clean sheet from his 12 games at the helm so far.
Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Jan Vertonghen, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, although Toby Alderweireld has now committed his future to the club.
The likes of Dayot Upamecano and Kalidou Koulibaly have both been linked with a move to North London as potential replacements for Vertonghen, and reports in Spain now suggest that Skriniar could be another target for the Champions League runners-up.
The Slovakia international has previously been on the radar of Manchester United and Manchester City, with the latter still thought to be monitoring his progress at Inter Milan.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are also understood to be in the running, although Inter are reportedly unwilling to consider offers of less than €85m (£72.1m) for the 24-year-old, who has been with Inter since 2017.
