Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Kieran Trippier's Newcastle United future, Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus and Maxime Esteve to Wolves.

Newcastle United have reportedly named their asking price for experienced right-back Kieran Trippier, who is now in the final year of his St James' Park contract.

The 33-year-old has been a cornerstone of the Magpies side during their rise to European contention, recording four goals and 21 assists in 92 matches across all competitions.

However, Trippier can leave Eddie Howe's side as a free agent in 2025 as things stand, and it remains unclear whether Newcastle are prepared to sanction a short-term extension.

If the Magpies are to let the former Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid man leave this summer, Football Insider claims that they will ask for at least £20m and potentially as much as £25m.

Trippier is believed to be attracting interest from the financial powerhouses of the Saudi Pro League, and Howe is not averse to cashing in on the right-back for the right price, albeit only if he pushes for an exit.

Trippier was a fundamental player for England during their run to the Euro 2024 final, starting six games on the left-hand side before dropping out for Luke Shaw in the final loss to Spain.

Wolverhampton Wanderers considering swoop for Burnley man?

Sticking with the theme of England-based defenders, Wolverhampton Wanderers are apparently showing an interest in Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve.

The France Under-21 international joined the Clarets on an initial loan deal from Montpellier HSC in January, but he could not halt their slide back down to the Championship.

Nevertheless, Esteve's move to Turf Moor was made permanent for £10.2m at the end of the season, but his time in Lancashire could already be nearing its end.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, current Premier League teams are weighing up approaches for the 22-year-old, including Wolves, who have lost Max Kilman to West Ham United this summer.

Gary O'Neil's men have supposedly asked for information on Esteve, but the race remains open for the 6ft 4in defender, who is not expected to rush into a decision on his future.

Esteve immediately became a regular for Vincent Kompany upon his arrival at Burnley over the winter, starting 15 Premier League games in the second half of the season.

Juventus 'make bid' for Atalanta BC midfielder

Over in Serie A, Juventus have reportedly come forward with an official bid for Atalanta BC midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

The Netherlands international confirmed earlier this year that he would be open to a move away from the Europa League winners, triggering a host of interest from abroad.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are among the Premier League teams tipped to make a move for Koopmeiners, but Juventus now appear to be at the head of the queue.

A separate update from Romano claims that the Old Lady have now made their first offer for the 26-year-old, whom they are willing to pay €45m (£38.2m) for.

Koopmeiners apparently agreed personal terms with Juventus back in May, meaning that the Bianconeri need only shake hands on a fee with Atalanta, who are holding out for a "big" package.

The midfielder boasts 29 goals and 15 assists from 129 matches in an Atalanta shirt, but he missed the Netherlands' Euro 2024 campaign with an adductor injury.

James Rodriguez on verge of La Liga return?

Finally, a dream return to La Liga could be about to materialise for 33-year-old James Rodriguez, who is said to be a target for Rayo Vallecano.

The former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich man has seen his club career stall somewhat in recent years, representing Qatari side Al-Rayyan and Greek giants Olympiacos before joining Sao Paulo.

However, Rodriguez lit up the Copa America with Colombia this summer, scoring one goal and providing a staggering six assists as he captained his nation to the final, where they lost to Argentina.

The playmaker was bestowed with the Player of the Tournament prize thanks to his stellar feats, and according to Marca, Vallecano are now working to bring him back to Spain.

Rodriguez's deal with Sao Paulo was due to run until 2025, but he has reportedly ripped up his terms with the Brazilian giants, making him available on a free transfer.

Vallecano are therefore said to be optimistic about their chances of striking a deal, even though it will be a 'complicated' one, with several other unnamed teams also in the running. body check tags ::
