Aston Villa have reportedly made an official move for Galatasaray attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.
The 24-year-old made the move to Galatasaray from Roma in February, and he has represented the Turkish outfit on 12 occasions, scoring five goals and registering one assist in the process.
There has been speculation surrounding the Italian's future this summer, though, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Villa have made an offer for his services.
Romano claims that the Premier League outfit are prepared to pay €3m (£2.6m) to loan the Italian for the 2023-24 campaign and will also cover his entire salary.
There will then be a €20m (£17.3m) buy option in the agreement, which could rise to €27m (£23.3m) once add-ons have been taken into account.
Villa are allegedly still waiting to hear back from Galatasaray, with the club yet to make a decision on the attacker's future this summer.
Zaniolo, who has been capped on 13 occasions by Italy, made 128 appearances for Roma during his time with the Serie A giants, scoring 24 goals and registering 18 assists in the process.
Meanwhile, Romano also claims that Napoli are locked in discussions with Celta Vigo over a fee for Gabri Veiga, with the Italian side now leading the race for his signature.
There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Spaniard's future, with many of the Premier League's leading clubs believed to be interested in him.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with Veiga, while Barcelona and Real Madrid have been mentioned as possible suitors.
However, according to Romano, Veiga has already come to an agreement with Napoli over personal terms, and the two clubs are now discussing a transfer fee.
The 21-year-old was in impressive form for the Sky Blues during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 11 occasions in Spain's top flight.
Celta are expecting to lose Veiga before the end of the transfer window, although it is understood that the La Liga outfit are holding out for his €40m (£34.6m) release clause to be met.
Elsewhere, according to journalist Santi Aouna, an agreement has been reached between Lens and Middlesbrough for the transfer of forward Chuba Akpom.
There has been a host of speculation surrounding the 27-year-old's future, with his contract at the Riverside Stadium due to expire next June.
Akpom was in excellent form for Michael Carrick's side last season, finding the back of the net on 29 occasions in all competitions, including 28 Championship goals.
The forward is yet to feature for Boro this term, though, amid the speculation surrounding his future.
Lens have recently emerged as the favourites for the forward, and according to Aouna, an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs.
The journalist claims that Lens will pay just under €15m (£13m) for Akpom, with the French outfit seeking a replacement for Lois Openda, who scored 21 Ligue 1 goals last term before moving to RB Leipzig.
