Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a £40m bid to ensnare Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 22-year-old - the Premier League's joint top-scorer with Jamie Vardy - is being targeted by United manager Louis van Gaal as part of a summer spending spree, according to The Mirror.
Lukaku is Everton's club record signing, having joined for £28m from Chelsea in 2014, and is being eyed by Van Gaal as a solution to his difficulties up front.
Other rumoured summer targets for the Dutchman include Gareth Bale, Neymar and Sadio Mane.
Goals have been a problem for United this season, with just 24 in 20 games leaving them the 10th-best attacking side in the top flight.
