Manchester United are reportedly weighing up whether to make a fresh move for Atletico Madrid frontman Antoine Griezmann next summer.
The 26-year-old was a top target for United manager Jose Mourinho for much of this summer, with the player himself rating the chances of the transfer happening as "six out of 10" at one point.
The Frenchman ultimately decided to stay in the Spanish capital, however, after Atletico's attempts to overturn their ban on signing new players proved unsuccessful.
According to ESPN, United are now thinking about making a fresh bid next summer and are prepared to meet his €100m (£88m) release clause should they decide to go ahead.
Atletico have agreed a deal to sign Diego Costa from Chelsea when their transfer embargo lifts in January and his arrival is likely to make the prospect of Griezmann departing more realistic.
Reports have suggested that Griezmann agreed to sign a new one-year deal with Atletico on the condition that his relatively-low release clause was kept intact.
