Manchester United have reportedly rebuffed an approach from Chelsea for striker Javier Hernandez.
It is understood that the Blues have not made an official cash offer for the Mexican forward, but have inquired about his availability following the arrival of Robin van Persie at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman completed his £24m move from Arsenal earlier today to leave United with a wealth of attacking talents.
Hernandez will be competing for a starting berth with Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welback and Shinji Kagawa, while Chelsea only boast of one true striker in the shape of Fernando Torres.
However, Chelsea's approach was immediately rejected, with Sir Alex Ferguson very keen to keep hold of the 24-year-old, according to ESPN.
