Manchester United have made an approach to sign Manchester City midfielder James Milner, according to reports.
The England international is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium this summer, and is widely expected to join Liverpool on a free transfer.
However, The People claims that United chief executive Ed Woodward has made an enquiry with Milner's advisers in the last few days as the club weigh up a potential contract offer.
Milner is said to be concerned with Liverpool's slump in form at the end of the season, and the talk surrounding the future of manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 29-year-old played 32 times in the league for City this season.
