Manchester United have reportedly identified Real Madrid's Karim Benzema as the ideal man to replace unsettled forward Wayne Rooney.
It is understood that David Moyes, who will take over as United manager this summer, has been told that he can decide whether or not Rooney, 27, stays at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, United are willing to consider offers in the region of £25m for Rooney, which they may then use to part-fund a £30m bid for Benzema.
Benzema, 25, who has scored 10 goals in 28 La Liga appearances this campaign, has two years left to run on his current contract at the Bernabeu.
