Manchester United are reportedly prepared to meet Leicester City's asking price for Harry Maguire.
Both United and neighbours Manchester City have been heavily linked with a move for the England international, who is said to be valued in the region of £85m.
City have allegedly insisted that they are not willing to pay such a fee, effectively leaving United with a decision to make over their pursuit of the 26-year-old.
According to The Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given the green light for the North-West giants to press on with their efforts to bring the centre-back to Old Trafford.
There is a suggestion that United would prefer to include a player in any deal in order to lower the price, although Leicester are said to be against those terms.
Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof has reportedly emerged as a target for Barcelona, with his agent also suggesting that the Swede is attracting interest from a top European club.
