Donny van de Beek is reportedly "looking for new options" this summer, with the midfielder ready to leave Manchester United in search of regular first-team action.

The Netherlands international missed the second half of the 2022-23 campaign due to the serious knee injury that he suffered against Bournemouth in the Premier League on January 3.

Van de Beek has been back in individual training in recent weeks, though, and he underwent a full session alongside his teammates on the first day of pre-season training on Thursday.

The 26-year-old has another two years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford, with the option to extend for a further year, but there is huge uncertainty surrounding his future in Manchester.

The midfielder has largely struggled to make his mark for the Red Devils since arriving from Ajax in September 2020, only managing two goals and two assists in 60 appearances.

Van de Beek was restricted to just 10 appearances in the first half of last season, although he featured in four of Man United's five league games ahead of picking up a knee injury.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his official YouTube channel, has claimed that the midfielder is ready to leave Old Trafford this summer in search of regular action.

"The player is looking for new options. Van de Beek is considering some possibilities around Europe, and there is a very concrete chance for him to leave Man United," said the journalist.

"He loves the club, but he knows it is time for him to play after returning from injury."

Van de Beek made 36 appearances during his first season at Old Trafford, but he only featured on 14 occasions in 2021-22 and spent the second half of that campaign on loan at Everton.

The Dutchman also struggled to make his mark at Goodison Park, and he could now move away from the Premier League in a bid to regain his best form.

The futures of fellow Man United midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay are also being called into question, with the duo thought to be available for the right price this summer.

Mason Mount became the club's first signing of the window earlier this week, and there have been claims that Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat is also a target to further boost the midfield.

Man United have also allegedly now made an improved offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, with the Red Devils pushing to bring the Cameroonian to Old Trafford. body check tags ::
