Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has reportedly been left encouraged in his bid to secure a deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
The recently-appointed Frenchman is known to be an admirer of his compatriot, who is said to be keen to depart United this summer.
However, club president Florentino Perez allegedly prefers the signing of Christian Eriksen, partly due to the Tottenham Hotspur man having just a year left on his contract.
Nevertheless, The Mirror says that Zidane has convinced Perez to launch an official approach for Pogba at some point during the current transfer window.
United are said to maintain that Pogba - who has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford - will not be sold ahead of next season.
